On a computer, both buttons open your files.

How to scan documents to PDF

  1. Tap Take a photo. Your camera opens; photograph the first page.
  2. Tap Add another page for each further page. Reorder, rotate or remove pages if needed.
  3. Choose Document or Original colour, and a file size if your form has a limit.
  4. Tap Create PDF, then download it.

How your files stay private

The camera hands each photo to this page on your phone, and the PDF is made in your phone's memory. The page is locked so it cannot send data to any other website, and it never sees your camera except through the photos you take. When you press Start over or close the tab, everything is cleared.

Limits

  • Up to 20 pages per PDF
  • Pages aren't cropped or straightened automatically yet - fill the screen with the page when you take the photo

Questions

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The photos go from your camera into this page, and your phone builds the PDF itself. Nothing is sent to our servers or anyone else's.

Do I need to install an app?

No. It works in your phone's web browser. Take a photo opens your normal camera; after each photo you come back to the page and can add another.

What does the Document look do?

It makes the paper white and the text dark, removes shadows from your hand or the lamp, and turns the page grey-scale - like a scanner. It also makes the PDF much smaller. Choose Original colour for photos, ID cards or coloured certificates.

Can I make the PDF fit an upload limit?

Yes. Choose a file size such as Under 1 MB. The space is shared between the pages, and each photo keeps the best quality that fits. If it can't fit while staying readable, you're told and get the smallest version.

Tips for a good scan

Lay the page flat in good light, hold the phone straight above it, and fill the screen with the page. Avoid your own shadow.
