Which image tool do I need?
Forms and websites usually set one of three rules for pictures. Each tool handles one of them, and they work well one after another.
- A file size limit ("under 100 KB"): Compress Image brings photos under the limit, keeping as much quality as it can.
- Exact dimensions ("600 × 600 pixels"): Resize Image scales or crops to exact width and height without stretching.
- A particular format ("JPG only"): Convert Image switches between JPG, PNG and WebP, several at once.
- Both size and dimensions: Resize first, then compress - each step keeps the result as sharp as possible.
Working with photos privately
The pictures people resize and compress are often personal: passport photos, signatures, ID cards. Here, your browser does all the work on your device; nothing is uploaded, and camera details such as location are not copied into converted or compressed files.
Questions
Are the image tools free?
Yes - free, with no sign-up and no watermark, as many times as you need.
Which formats are supported?
JPG, PNG and WebP, in and out. iPhone HEIC photos aren't supported yet; set the camera to Most Compatible to save new photos as JPG.
How many images can I do at once?
Up to 20 images of up to 25 MB each. Several results download together as one ZIP file.
Will my photos lose quality?
Compressing and converting to JPG or WebP trade a little detail for a smaller file; at the default settings the difference is hard to see. Resizing down keeps the picture sharp; PNG keeps every pixel.
