Why people remove pages from PDFs
Scanners that copy both sides of every sheet leave blank backs behind. Merged files pick up duplicate cover sheets. Bank statements and HR bundles contain pages with details the recipient has no business seeing. In each case the fix is the same: take the extra pages out before you send the document.
Fewer pages also means a lighter file. Removing a few photo-heavy or scanned pages often brings a PDF under an upload limit without compressing anything.
Deleting pages without mistakes
Because every page is shown as a preview, you remove pages by what they look like, not by guessing page numbers. Nothing is final until you save.
- Changed your mind? Restore original brings every deleted page back in its first order and direction, as long as you haven't saved yet.
- Removing most of the pages? When you only want to keep two or three pages of a long file, Extract PDF pages is quicker: type the pages to keep instead of deleting the rest.
- Check the count before saving. The page total updates as you delete, so you can confirm the new length matches what you expect.
- Still too big after deleting? Run the saved PDF through Compress PDF to shrink the pictures on the pages you kept.
How to delete pages from a PDF
- Open your PDF here, or drop it onto the box. Every page appears as a small preview.
- Press the delete button on each page you want gone. You can also drag pages into a new order or turn them.
- Press Save PDF to download the new copy. Your original file stays exactly as it was.
How your files stay private
Your browser draws the page previews and writes the new PDF, in memory, on your device. The page is locked so it cannot send data to any other website. When you press Start over or close the tab, everything is cleared.
Limits
- One PDF at a time, up to 50 MB
- Password-protected or restricted PDFs can't be changed
- Bookmarks, fillable form fields and links between pages may not be kept
Questions
Can I delete several pages at once?
Each page has its own delete button, so removing a handful takes a few taps. To drop dozens of pages, use Extract PDF pages and type only the ones to keep.
Will deleting pages make the PDF smaller?
Usually, yes. The pages you remove take their text and pictures with them, which helps most with scanned documents.
Does deleting a page change the other pages?
No. The pages you keep are copied as they are, without re-compression, so text stays sharp and searchable.
Can I remove pages from a protected PDF?
No. PDFs that need a password or are locked against changes can't be edited. Save an unlocked copy in the program that made the file, then try again.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Open the page in your phone's browser, pick the PDF from your Files app, tap the pages to remove and save the new copy.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The page previews and the new PDF are both made by your browser on your own device. The file is never sent to our servers or anyone else's.
